Christmas Phone call Dec. 25, 2011
We were all excited to hear from Elder Seawell on Christmas. He really is loving his mission and seems very happy. He related to us a few stories, some spiritual experiences he has had teaching, and some crazy mishaps that have happened to him on his bike.
I will share his bike story:
My companion and I were heading out to go to an appointment and my senior companion wanted to take a short cut through a big open field. I wanted to stay on the road seeing how the snow was as deep as my knees and knew I couldn't ride my bike through the snowy field. Elder Thompson said we would just carry our bikes to the other side of the field. I was reluctant but went ahead with my companion. We went through the snow until we came upon a creek. My companion threw his bike over the running water into the snowy bank on the other side. So I decided to do the same, only my throw was perfect. My bike landed perfectly on it's wheels and rolled back down the bank into the freezing cold water, upside down with the bike seat and handlebars in the water. I retrieved my bike as my companion laughed! We went to our appointment and parked our bikes outside. When it was time to go home, we went to go get on our bikes and ride them home, but my bike was frozen solid! My gears, my brakes, my tires, everything had ice on them. I was not able to ride my bike. We called some members who came and got us and took us and my bikes home to thaw.
He is keeping busy with several different people he is teaching. He said he does fine as long as he is busy. It is the times when he is in the shower or when he is studying that his mind thinks of home. He said the ward members are really great and are feeding him well. The church building is right by the soon to be Fort Collins Temple. They should be starting construction on that soon. He is getting use to the snow but thinks he has forgotten what grass looks like! :)

What do y'all want for Christmas?
For you to be an awesome missionary!!! Maybe just pictures of you would be great!!! Nathanael wants to know if you got his letter.
Yes i did get Nathanael's letter. It's hard to write back. There is never time.
Oh, and my bike is messed up right now... it's a funny story! (We heard the story on Christmas day when we talked on the phone. I will retell the story later)
Are you staying warm enough on your bike? Do you need anything like gloves, hats, scarfs, stuff like that?
No, I'm ok I think I should be fine.
I gave a blessing last night by the way, that was cool.
Really? That's cool that you can use your priesthood!
What are my bud's email address? I want to email them.
Who???
Christian, Harrison, Josh, and Braden
WHAT IS THERE EMAIL I wanna email them!
Can you email other missionaries?
Well it depends on the mission pres. I guess.
I have some really cool stories to tell you, like life changing! They're so good!!! Last night was crazy, I was just like AHHHH!!!
I will talk to y'all later, tell Nathanael I'm proud of him!
Love ya bye!

The ward is great. Mondays are my today p-day. So are y'all taking the challenge i gave y'all? (Madison sent on the voice recorder each one of us in the family a challenge... reading the Book of Mormon, praying...) Tell Jerry I miss him. No investigators yet, we go tracking all the time though. We got 2 appointments today to teach people, I'm so excited!
How are you tracking on a bike, or walking?
We are on bikes all the time. My legs are so big hahaha jk but for real, we ride about 8 miles a day or so.
Did you buy a bike? 8 miles is a lot! Do you have a light on your bike? Are you wearing a helmet? Does the altitude bother you?
No I stole (using a bike a missionary left, he didn't really steal a bike) some elders bike haha and yes it does have a light. I wear a helmet sometimes but sometimes it's too cold and I have all this head gear stuff on. I can't put the helmet on. The altitude did bother me at first but I'm getting better.
Please wear it!!! It could save your life! I worry so much with you on a bike. How is your companion? Do you guys get along?
Elder Thompson is great to me. We are good friends.
Does he think you have a southern accent?
No everyone is mad I don't have one. They're like you are not from the south!

It was so cool to be that close to an apostle. The Lord has really blessed me a lot.

Dec. 6, 2011 In Colorado!!!!
The following is emails back and forth on Elder Seawell's p-day! I just happened to be on the computer when I got his email. My questions will be in a different color.
Mom, my new companion is Elder Thompson. He is super cool, and yes my first area is on a bike. The ward we're in is really rich. They said they never have any baptisms, but I plan to change that! lol Pres. Toombs is a cool dude too, he trust me a lot. He told me I need to find a lot of people in my area I'm in and baptize a lot of people. :)
Where are you? What city?
My area is Loveland, CO It's where they're going to build the new temple.
Awesome!! So is that Fort Collins?
Please pay attention when you are on your bike. Do you need to buy a bike? Dress warm!!! I hear it is pretty cold out there!! :)
no its strange, the temple is called Fort Collins, but it's in Loveland, CO. Loveland is south of Fort Collins.
ya I'm going to go buy a bike soon if u want u can give me more money :)
I've heard it is a nice area!!! I went to school with some people in that area... not sure if it is loveland. They said they would feed you it they met you.
well talk to them tell them and tell them to look out for me and tell them i want referrals!
Ok I will :) You can change this area!!! How exciting!!!
I dont wanna nice bike but im so exited for my new and first area!
I know I'm going to go out and find all kinds of people.
Where is your companion from?
He is from New Jersey.
Can you buy a used bike from another missionary?
I don't know yet to be honest about the bike.
Is your companion excited to work?
He reminds me of Elder Blood. He thinks the area sucks for baptisms, but that will change. By the way, there is like a foot of snow here.
Cool! You are going to love the snow!! Real snow!!! Stay warm!!! I love you. I can't even tell you how proud I am of you! Go find people to teach!
I think I'm going to go unpack and then go see some members and stuff. I'm way happy to be here in Denver! Tell the Snyder's I said thank you for the package. :)
Good!! Be good and remember that people love the southern hospitality!!! I love you!!! Tab got your letter today! She was so happy to hear from you.
lol dont worry. I pray for all of yall all the time. Tell the ward i miss them and love them. And the people in the YSA (young single adult) I love them and miss them. Well I'm getting off. Love you.
